Communities Invited to Submit Projects for New $225 million IDOT Freight Program

IDOT Celebrates African-American History Month

SPRINGFIELD — The Illinois Department of Transportation will host a month of special events celebrating African-American History Month in February. This year's theme, "Uncovering Our Rich History," will be reflected in activities focused on art, mathematics, politics, engineering and education.

"We are proud to recognize African-American History Month with a full schedule of fun, interesting and informative events," said Illinois Transportation Secretary Randy Blankenhorn. "The public is welcome and encouraged to attend."

Freezing Rain, Drizzle and Sleet Impacting Travel in Illinois

SPRINGFIELD - The Illinois Department of Transportation is advising the public that a combination of freezing rain, drizzle and sleet is expected to impact travel throughout today and during the overnight hours. Icy conditions will make driving treacherous and motorists are advised to make preparations if they plan to be on the road.
