With more than 400 million bus riders using public transportation each year statewide, it is important that IDOT continually maintains and improves the public transportation system. IDOT provides grants to enhance Illinois’ transportation network through technical assistance and financial resources to public transportation providers that increase mobility options and support an interconnected transportation network for the efficient movement of people and goods throughout Illinois.
