SCAM ALERT:  A current text message smishing scam claims recipients owe money associated with traffic tickets, tolls, and other fines.  These are not legitimate messages from the Illinois Department of Transportation.  If you receive a message report it to the Federal Trade Commission and/or the FBI’s Internet Crime Complaint Center.

Illinois Transportation Plan

Public transportation is an essential way for people to travel throughout the state of Illinois. Next Move Illinois is a successor to the 2018 Illinois Statewide Public Transportation Plan. The goal of this plan is to set a strategic vision, recommend policy and performance updates, and identify specific strategies to improve public transportation outcomes within Illinois.

November Public Meetings

Three public meetings were held in November to share the progress of the plan development ahead of anticipated work in Spring 2026 to develop future strategies for improving public transportation in Illinois. If you were not able to participate in a live meeting, a recorded meeting will be shared here soon so you can get an update on the plan at your convenience.
