- Illinois Bike Transportation Plan: Completed in April 2014, the Illinois Bike Transportation Plan is Illinois' first ever attempt at fully examining the robust and ever growing bicycle system across Illinois and proposing new policies that will further integrate bike travel across the state and address current barriers to bicycling as a viable method of transportation. - Bicycle Facility Inventory System: The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is excited to announce the launch of the new statewide Bicycle Facility Inventory System. This online, interactive map database includes helpful information about bicycle lanes, paths, trails, and their associated characteristics. This system will better allow IDOT and other agencies to include bicycle infrastructure more prominently in future projects. Further, cyclists and other agencies may access the system to search and collect bicycle facilities data and update characteristics of trails and paths. Sound interesting? Email us for access!
